The vineyards of Galarej are the first step along the Serralunga’s sun-kissed ridge.
The “Cascina” (Farmhouse) overlooks the amphitheatre shaped vineyards from the top of the hill.
The history of Galarej starts many decades ago. In 1848 the “not yet Italian” social context was in turmoil. The first Independence War broke out. Enrico Manini was an activist and a patriot against the Austrian occupation troops led by Radetzky Marshal. In 1850 he had to flee from Milan and moved back to Serralunga d’Alba, his native village, where he bought Cascina Galarej with few hectares of land and started making wines.
Today Galarej is a small family owned estate that produces excellent wines with passion and commitment.
